Caucus/Affinity Groups
As whites and people of color, we each have work to do separately and together. Caucus strategies provide strategies for people to work within their own racial/ethnic groups, often as one part of a structure that also includes multi-racial work. Within the caucus, some groups focus on individual development; others on taking action; and several that do a combination. Accountability to people of color is a principle of this work, particularly for caucuses of white people - so that learnings and decisions are less likely to represent unconscious or conscious privilege.. Resources about caucus and affinity group work are in this section. Content (information and examples) about Accountability are in the next section.
